Together, we will learn to employ practices that affirm LGBTQ+ youth, while leveraging tools to support their learning and development within our sites and districts. You will be provided a space to navigate resources, understand the development of gender support plans, and build your toolbox in order to fill in the gaps and ensure your schools and organizations are welcoming, supportive and inclusive for some of our most vulnerable youth.

Proactively supporting LGBTQ+ youth is critical to improving college and career resilience and persistence. This session provided space to widen understandings of “readiness”, navigate resources, and ultimately deepen our toolboxes before youth leave high school settings.

LGBTQ+ Foundations 101: Defining Yourself as an Ally, Advocate, and Accomplice 

Supporting LGBTQ+ youth is critical to improving student outcomes. You will be provided a space to explore pronouns, LGBTQ identities, and terminology, as well as explore the ways in which biases, privilege, and oppression show up within your practice and organizations. Together we will establish the strong foundations needed to equip ourselves as LGBTQ allies, advocates and accomplices.
